About Me
Like all authors, I’m obligated to tell you that I found my love of storytelling as a child. Luckily, I did! However, that’s not what’s interesting about me. It’s probably not what’s interesting about you either. Rather than the standard bio, I figured I’d say a few random things you may or not find curious.
Some things that are far more interesting about me than my love of stories are I began doing martial arts at about 13 years old. I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, competed nationally, and then later explored Shoa Lin Kung Fu in northern China. The very small scar on my nose (seriously, it looks like a super big pore) is from my first cat, Spooky, and the scar on my leg is from doing a flip off of a broken tree branch. As a teenager, I lied to all the kids in my neighborhood and told them I was a vampire because I had fangs, and I love travel.
I used to be pretty athletic, but now walking is my main “sport” because of injuries. I like telling jokes, generally at my own expense, and my favorite food is ice cream.
When I consider typing “Mishka is my dog,” my brain stops me and says to rephrase it because I don’t “own” her. We have more of a roommate situation going on, though I’m highly displeased with her lack of dedication toward chores. I tried a chore chart. It did nothing, so please don’t suggest it. It’s a sore spot.
Life can be beautiful and shitty, awesome and hard. So, I use my books to express myself and wander through all sorts of fun and often weird alleys in my mind. I have always felt right at home in the realm of make-believe, and I hope you enjoy my books!!! (Thanks for taking the time to read them, and this!)
